DOOR SKIN Notes

HT/Cv. skins without upper (top) flange, must be trimmed & fitted to original flange (part belt molding is screwed to) & tack welded to it, this means you do not remove all of skin but leave 1” at top, the advantage in doing it this way is that by not removing the old skin completely you have a rigid intact door frame to work with. In front of vent window leave old underflange, trim skin & weld new right on the original edge (this top edge only). This may be preferable for some installers.
